All comments()

There are many reasons why Paris has maintained its crown as the City of Love. If your are planning your wedding, or are recently married and looking for a romantic getaway, then a honeymoon in Paris could have everything you’re looking for. MetroStyle tells you why.

Bask in the Beauty

Paris is full of landmarks, most notably is of course the Eiffel Tower. One cannot visit Paris without checking this striking monument off the list. While the crowds of tourists may dampen the romantic feel during the day, at nighttime the Tower becomes illuminated and breathtaking, offering awesome sights of the entire city from the Champagne Bar at the very top.

During the day, take a stroll in Montmartre or visit the white-domed Basilica of the Sacré Cœur on its summit. From here, you can sit and enjoy the view with your beloved. The area is dotted with the former studies of  artists including Salvador Dalí, Amedeo Modigliani, Claude Monet, Piet Mondrian, Pablo Picasso, Camille Pissarro and Vincent van Gogh. Buti f youre in the mood for a lazy day, you can just sit in a bistro and watch the world go by.

As you probably already know, the Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile is one of the most famous monuments in Paris. It stands in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle (originally named Place de l'Étoile), at the western end of the Champs-Élysées. While this is a place you need to visit, the twilight hours should be spent doing something more relaxing so you can discuss the magnificence of the architecture youve viewed. Choose an evening cruise on the Seine. Theres a selection of boats that offer a dining service that allows you to have dinner on the Seine surrounded by the lights of the city.

Paris is full of romance…and museums. The most famous of which is obviously the Louvre, which is located on the Right Bank of the Seine in the 1st arrondissement. Paris is the capital of many renowned couture brands, like Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Dior; therefore is one of the best cities for shopping. If you are willing to invest some of your wedding gifts we suggest you to take a walk on the Champs-Élysées, a boulevard in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, which runs between the Place de la Concorde and the Place Charles de Gaulle, where the Arc de Triomphe is located.  There you can find a lot of luxury shops and the big department store Galerie Lafayette.
